Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon
PlayStation® 4 / PlayStation ®Vita | Genre: Action Role-playing Game
Release date: JPN - Feb 2017
Yoru no Nai Kuni 2 Shingetsu no Hanayome (PlayStation 4™, JPN) | US$ 71.99 pre |
Yoru no Nai Kuni 2 Shingetsu no Hanayome (PlayStation Vita, JPN) | US$ 62.99 pre |
Hello again all, hope you've been enjoying the holidays. We've got a lot of new for Gust's upcoming action RPG title due to be released next February. We'll take a look at a new Lily who'll fight alongside Alushe, see a few more details of the beginnings of the game's story, and learn about Servan evolution! If this is the first time you've heard of this title, you can read our first article outlining the game here.
First let's go over the new Lily: Veruschka (Voiced by Miyu Tomita)
She serves the Lourdes Order, which opposes the Curia. This is the same organization that our protagonist Alushe's childhood friend Runenheid belongs too. Abandoned as a child after being the subject of half-demon experiments, she was saved by the organization's head. Due to the trauma, she has suppressed her will and emotions, and lives to serve the Lourdes Order that saved her.
Like Alushe, she too is a half-demon. Dual wielding daggers, she restlessly attacks with terrifying speed, cutting through hordes of enemies. Even one-shotting powerful enemies with special abilities. While she may initially but at odds with Alushe, after certain events she begins to fight at her side as her Lily.
Now let's go into a little more detail into how Alushe's journey began:
In a world where demonic fiends roam the land at night, the organization known as the "Curia" aims to protect the people from them. The head of the Curia, the Pope, assigns our protagonist Alushe with the task of protecting a saint and her childhood friend, Liliana. They learn she the one known as the "Bride of Time", and is the one chosen to be a sacrifice to the Queen of the Moon. Alushe's new mission is to escort her to the castle of the Queen of the Moon.
As Alushe wonder if it's right to sacrifice Liliana, their childhood friend Ruhenheid shows up to confront her as an agent of the Lourdes Order. She argues with Alushe, claiming the Curia cannot help protect the people. As this happens, they're ambushed by fiends, and Alushe is killed in the attack.
However, Alushe later awakens to find herself in a strange laboratory. Here she learns she was revived by Camillia using the blood of Arnice, a legendary demon. Alushe, now a half-demon, is able to create blood swords with her new powers and with them, aims to find Liliana who has gone missing.
Later, Alushe and Ruhenried are eventually reunited at a hotel which was turned into a base of operations by Camilla. Despite their different views and association, they decide to put that all aside in an effort to rescue Liliana. It'll be very interesting to see how their relationship develops along the way.
Finally another look at the Subordinate Demons that'll assist Alushe on her quest:
As previously mentioned in our earlier article here, Alushe will fight alongside various little demons called Servans. Split into two types, Striker and Tricker, each one has their own unique skills and abilities that can either assist her in battle or get her around the world.
As she completes quests on her journey the Servans will level up and gain "Subordinate Demon Points", which can be used to increase their stats like HP, attack power, etc. Eventually, once they reach a certain point the Servan will "evolve", increasing it's stats and changing their appearance. Once all their stats are maxed out, you can "reincarnate" a Servan, which will reset them to Level 1 and also boost their stats.
Here are several of the Servans Alushe will come across:
Nero - Tricker type: A cat Servan adored by Alushe. This one has a deep connection to her past.
Shalf - Tricker type: A wolf Servan with electrified fangs. Using his fangs and agile movements, he assists Alushe with solving puzzles.
Feuille - Tricker type: A flower-like fairy Servan who loves to sleep. She can uses her flower petals to protect her allies.
Pitz - Striker type: A bee-like Servan who fights with hit-and-run attacks from mid-range. She can transform into a polearm.
Eil - Striker type: A flaming bird Servan who can attack multiple enemies at once. Can transform into a great sword, which can deal double damage when Alushe focuses her power.
Alice - Striker type: A rabbit-earred doll Servan who tries to act more mature than she really is. Can transform into a mirror shield.
Dure - Strike type: This newly revealed Servan resembles a giant lizard of some kind. A reliable fighter that attacks at close range. Can transform into a lance.
We hope all this new info has gotten you excited for this gorgeous looking title, which looks to be filled with lots of action and lots of pretty girls! Also as mentioned previously, the first print run of Nights of Azure 2 will include a special bonus Servan, and the Premium Box's will come with a special illustration included inside!
Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon will be out in Feb 2017 with a planned English release, look forward to it!

Familiar Names and More Battle Mechanics Revealed for Four Goddesses Online: Cyber Dimension Neptune
Four Goddesses Online: Cyber Dimension Neptune
Playstation®4 | Genre: Action RPG
Release date: Feb 09, 2017
Four Goddesses Online Cyber Dimension Neptune (PlayStation 4™, JPN) | US$ 69.99 pre |
Hi everyone, hope you're all enjoying the holiday season! We're back again with some more details on Neptune's next (online) adventure! If you missed our previous articles, you can check them out here and here first.
Let's start off with mentioning that several characters from past Neptunia games will be returning to play a part in the online game Neptune and her friends are playing.
- IF and Compa - Making another appearance in the Neptunia series, and in this game, they run a shop together. IF has taken the role of an item gathering explorer, while Compa selected doctor as her character job. (Voiced by Kana Ueda and Kana Sakai respectively.)
- Plutia and Peashy - They run a shop where you can purchase new accessories you can equip to your party. These accessories will their appearance and several familiar costumes will be available as well. (Voiced by Kana Hanazawa and Aoi Yuki respectively.)
- Uzume Tennouboshi - Always looking to improve her skills she started playing Four Goddesses Online. Prefers playing solo. (Voiced by Mariko Honda)
- Tamsoft - After winning a lottery at a festival, her prize was access to Four Goddesses Online. She now plays as a blacksmith who can improve your party's weapons and armor. (Voiced by Ami Koshimizu)
- Arfoire - A series regular antagonist returns and has become obsessed with Four Goddesses Online. She plays as a gardener and oddly likes to grow eggplants. (Voiced by Chiaki Takahashi)
- Warechu - Another series antagonist, and looks like a mouse. However, since playing as a mouse isn't an option in this game he plays as a human. (Voiced by Niko)
Throughout the game, characters will be able to learn many different types of skills. You can select and set your favorite skills to the Circle, Square, Triangle, and X buttons, and have two different skill sheets to can switch between in battle with the use of the Up and Down buttons. You can use L1 to bring up the skill info display as well.
As mentioned in our previous article, the use of skills requires the consumption of SP, which you can recover by normally attacking monsters. Also note there are two skill types, Physical and Magic. Use Physical(STR) skills to reduce enemy HP and Magic(INT) skills to reduce their Break Gauge.
Reducing an enemy's Break Gauge to zero will cause them to be stunned for a fixed amount of time, leaving them open to attack from your party, so take full advantage of it. You can speed up this process by locking on to enemies with the R1 button, which will also analyze them, providing you with the information you need to plan your attacks. Also, don't forget to exploit enemy weaknesses to fire, ice, thunder, and wind.
As you attack enemies and as they attack you, your Awakening Gauge will fill up. Once one gauge is filled, Awakening can be triggered. While Awakened, SP is recovered faster and the power of Skills is also increased. When the Awakening Gauge is filled three times while Awakened, your character can unleash their powerful unique special move called an Awakening Arcane. Of course, when the Awakening Gauge is depleted, the Awakening state ends. When playing offline single player, only the player character will activate Awakening, but when playing online multiplayer everyone will be able to use this ability.
Speaking of offline single player, you can set the actions of the AI-controlled characters by using the Strategy Screen. You'll be able to select from nine different strategies depending on the situation.
Four Goddess Online: Cyber Dimension Neptune will be coming to PS4 this coming February. You can check out some more gameplay footage by Dengeki Playstation here. In the meantime, we'll continue to bring you more news for this fun and cute looking title.
